IN THE HANDS OF THE DEVIL

A Sunday night movie that has left me thinking about how I should never have a reason to complain again. Sin Nombre had my heart racing and breaking as I watched the amazing cast depict an experience I am grateful to have never known in this life so far. However, after having seen it, I can't help but think that not all of us are so lucky to only see these horrific images on screen, considering those images are based off of an extreme and harsh reality. I would recommend seeing it if you're feeling brave and ready for a truly powerful film.

IN THE KITCHEN

A glimpse into my aunt's kitchen. It's a busy place when we all gather together at her house. Something is always cooking on the stove and we're all always passing through to taste test and chit chat. There's enough for seconds and thirds and leftovers when we have a big party. Nothing but the best home-made dishes comes out of there.

GREETINGS

Yesterday we celebrated a birthday and an anniversary in my family and I decided to be productive (rare during summer days) and used it as opportunity to unleash the stationary wizard within me.

I printed them out through my inkjet on card stock and thought they turned out pretty neat!
For my cousin's birthday, I summoned his two favorite things: bike-riding and photography.
After a few sketches, I ended up with a colorful bike+camera repeat pattern.
For the anniversary, I applied an even simpler idea and made some lovey-dovey characters and of course, added some hearts.

And voila! Stationary wizard unleashed-ed!
Sure it took 500% more time and energy than just going out to buy some cards, but well, whatever, this is way cooler.

DAY BY THE BAY

Some sights from after the fair.
Crafty goodness aside, it was the perfect day to be by the bay (usually is). J and I cruised while listening to some oldies, walked and talked, and had a classic SF chowder dinner with a perfect view of the bay during sunset. Doesn't Alcatraz look like a giant ship on the bay?

Happy happy days.
